HUS UNDERLANGEBRO (House under the Langebro Bridge) is a renovation project that reactivates disused spaces beneath the Langebro bridge as a local community centre. The proposal is developed in close collaboration with local residents and the City of Copenhagen, informed by a series of workshops that identify and respond to the needs of the area.

The project is guided by the concept of “home away from home,” reflecting the ambition to create a space where everyone feels at ease. It also expresses the centre’s self-governed nature, with the intention that it will be operated and shaped by its users. To support a wide range of activities, the design incorporates a series of movable furniture elements that enable the space to adapt to different needs and situations. Flexibility is embedded in the system, allowing users to reconfigure the environment over time. The project ultimately aims to form a large collective space composed of smaller, more intimate elements, where individuals can shape their own place within it, much like they would at home.
