Hus Under Langebro

HUS UNDERLANGEBRO (House under the Langebro bridge) is a renovation project that aims to transform existing abandoned spaces under the Langebro bridge into a local community centre. We have been working close with locals and the city of Copenhagen through organizing several workshops to reflect the real needs of the area.
A concept of the project is “Home away from home” which derived from the team’s wish that everyone in the space feel at home. The concept also reflects its self-governed character that the community centre will be operated by its users. Moreover, in order to accommodate various activities, we have been developing a series of movable furniture that allows the space to be flexible and functional in any circumstances.
The ultimate goal of this project is to create a large community centre with a combination of small personal scale elements where users can create their own space as the way they do at home.
